Ken is THE Paella Man! What a treat to have for my daughter’s first birthday. It was a delight to all of my guests. We started things with the fresh lobster sliders and spanish meatballs. Everyone loved them! Next was the Paella in which Ken helped serve. It was delicious and so easy to manage at a crazy party. We have already sent in our date request for next year! We had a fantastic experience with our paella party. We easily served 40 people with 2 paella’s. We ordered a chicken and chorizo for our meet eaters and a vegan one for our veggie eaters. I connected with Ken after my original caterer contacted me three weeks before my son’s couples shower in July, and said he was moving out of state and would not be able to cater our party.  Yikes!

Enter Ken – I immediately began my search the next morning.  I reached out to Ken at 530 am.  By 7 am I realized it was a blessing in disguise.  Ken was responsive and made it super easy to make the decision to host a paella party.  His suggestions were spot on and fit within my budget. I was happy to host a unique meal that everyone would enjoy.

Within the week, Covid struck and we had to delay our party.  Ken was as kind, caring, and accommodating as could be. Fortunately he had our new date available.

Ken arrived about an hour and a half before our party.  He had everything with him and took care of the smallest details.  He made a point to speak with all of our guests and even created a cute photo opp with my son and his fiancée with the paella. 

We had apps – guacamole, gazpacho, Spanish meatballs and Brussel Sprouts.  All were delicious and I have to say the gazpacho left over is even tastier two days later!

The paella was simply the best meal – easy to serve and eat, and everyone raved about how delicious it was. 

Ken took care of all the clean up and put the leftovers (not much – but enough for a lunch for my two boys) in my fridge – ensuring I could enjoy time with my guests. 

Our family will be together in FLA during Christmas.  We are excited to plan a repeat of his incredible paella and sides to share with our entire crew. 

You cannot go wrong scheduling a Paella Party with Ken!

I hired Chef Ken and Paella-Party.com to cook for a birthday party.

If you only read this far: the food was delicious, great value for the

money, and Chef Ken was both a delight to do business with and

entertaining to watch as he prepared the food.

 

First, the arranging: I was trying to arrange a surprise party and

didn’t know how many people there would be, nor whether there would be

any dietary issues.  Ken advised me on both a menu appropriate for the

occasion, and described how he could alter the paella to accommodate

people with shellfish allergies.  Communication was clear and every

time I reached out to him, Ken was very prompt in getting back to me.

 

The experience: Ken showed up right on time and got to work.  He

prepared a fresh salad on the spot, and had the appetizers already

prepared, just needed to heat them up.  When it came time to cook the

paella itself, the cooking was the entertainment.  Ken described what

he was doing and why, and engaged the guests.  (This was exactly what

I was hoping for in hiring Paella-party.com.)  He served everyone,

both appetizers and the paella, and when the food was all dished out

he cleaned up his stuff and that was it.  For payment, Ken took Venmo

and everything was easy.  I didn’t have to do anything!  No set-up, no

clean-up.  This made my job as a host SO much easier.

 

The food: major crowd-pleaser.  The paella was the mixto (chicken,

chorizo, and seafood) and it was terrific.  I had several people tell

me how much they enjoyed it—both the food, and the whole experience

that Paella-party.com provided.  My advice is, tell Ken what you’re

after for an experience, listen to his advice on the menu and on the

servings, and trust his experience.

 

Other thoughts: Ken also brought large-format containers for leftovers.

That was a nice touch on his part, as we had a number of people who

were unable to attend.
